Notes

Overcast diffuse light with a bright break in the clouds to the right creates soft, directionless illumination across a vast black sand beach. The palette is near-monochromatic — dark charcoal sand, slate ocean, muted olive-gold on the cliff face — punctuated by white cloud glow. Contrast is moderate with crushed shadows in the foreground sand. The mood is dramatic, desolate, and elemental, with strong leading lines drawing the eye toward distant sea stacks.
